Many things acted as inspiration for this. No this is not quote or a spoiler it's just an idea that came into my head.

They live in the Infernal Devices trilogy.

A thoroughly enjoyable read if you haven't started reading it already. Book 2, Clockwork Prince will be released in December and I beleive a re-print of Clockwork Angel has just hit the shelves containing an exclusive short story 'Magnus' Vow'.

Magnus is amazing. Nuff said.
