When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

The lights seemed to dim around them as Sasuke lead Sakura through their routine for the millionth time that day, or at least that's what it seemed. He looked down at her face, she was chewing her lip slightly in a way he had come to recognise as her 'I think I'm getting the hang of this' expression. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth but he kept his aloof scowl firmly in place.
She wasn't the big-foreheaded, awkward child he rememberred any more. She was on the cusp of being a real woman and he had to admit that once he'd gotten her out of her vulgar rollerblading outfit his jaw had dropped. Her hair was a lot shorter than Ino's, Ino kept her's long because according to one of those many magasines that only women read it had been puclished that Sasuke Uchiha was a man who liked girls with long hair. This was at a particular lull in his media life when the most interesting thing about him was that he'd changed what he had for breakfast. Since they had been no scandal to rip him apart for and no family trouble the media had played on the next biggest market, the drooling fangirls. Short hair was cuter, Sasuke thought but refused to admit to himself that the only reason he'd had that thought was because of the pink haired girl in his arms. She was warm and soft and sweet and so unlike Ino, so unlike the women that threw themselves at him, so unlike any woman he had ever known except for his mother. She was just as kind and gentle but where his mother was docile and pasif Sakura was a roaring flame. She wasn't afraid to challenge Sasuke or yell at him when he pushed her too hard to fast. She knew that this competition was important for him and she wasn't going to let him down, but to accomplish that goal she had to get the routine down to a t, the moves to perfection and so on and that took time and patience. Sakura breathed deeply as she and Sasuke skated side by side. When he'd first brought her to this private rink she had felt exposed by the large empty stands and panicked thinking that if she couldn't stand an empty room how would she stand the crowds. But then Sasuke had come over from where he'd been putting on his skates and gently lead her by the hand onto the rink and told her it would all be alright. As a child Sasuke had been arrogant and thirsty to prove himself to the class, to the teacher and most of all his parents. That desire for recognition was still there but there were other qualities that she noticed too. Qualities like how strong and lean he was, how he'd make sure to be close by if ever she was feeling nervous or worried. He didn't talk much but the fact that he went out of his way to make his presence known to her told her a lot of things. The two lone skaters each did a figure of either, skating towards each other and grabbing one anothers wrists. The momentum from the figure of eight carried them round until they were both spinning. Sakura bent her knees slightly and then pushed off, tightenning her body into a rigid line. Sasuke's arms tenses and his shoulders shook for a moment but her did not let go. Sakura bent her knees over his shoulders and with a pull and a twist she was sitting on his shoulders, right side up this time and more than a little dizzy. Still holding onto her tightly Sasuke lowerred her down behind him, twirled her around in front of him, looped an arm around her waist and they were done. Both had their right arms stretched towards the ceiling and both were breathing hard. They looked at each in silence before a wide grin broke out on Sakura's face and she tackled Sasuke into a hug. "I did it Sasuke-kun, I did it! We did it." "Yeh," Sasuke said with a small smile as she detached herself from him and turned to skate the edge of the rink but he caught her arm. He twisted her back around to face him and before she could even say a word he had claimed her mouth in a passionate kiss. ----------------------------------- Media: Pencil outline coloured over in photoshop Time: Several hours...12 or so maybe Characters: Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno (C) MK ------------------------------------ This is a sequel picture this [link] ------------------------------------ The background isn't as stunning as the last one and the faces aren't right but other than that I love it. The clothes are better here than they were even though Sasuke's trousers have to shading and that's how they were meant to be and that's how they'll stay. I love this pairing. |
