It All Comes Down to the Blades
-------------------------------- Throwing her up in the Sasuke skated just beneath Ino as she did an amazing double axel the ice on her skates flying off so it seemed like she was raining sparkles as she went. Sasuke's hands went to her waste as she came back down shifting her weight onto him and using his momentum to dip her low. Ino spread her arms wide as she went through Sasuke's bent legs. After a while he pulled her back up and after one final glind they came to rest in their final position. The crowd roared with approval as the 3 time national champions waved to them. "You caught me wrong," Ino hissed through a smile as another jolt of pain went up her leg from her ankle. "Are you alright?" Sasuke hissed back smiling at the judges. "No, I don't think I can put any weight on my ankle," Ino replied looking down at it for a moment. "Don't draw attention to it, I'll handle it." Ino gave him a confused look for a moment, not knowing exactly how he was going to handle it but she soon knew. Skooping her up bridal style Sasuke then proceeded to skate her off the ice to the booth where they would await their scores. "What are you doing?" she hissed, blushing furiously as the entire female population of the crowd awed. A month ago the papers had circulated a story about them getting engaged because apparently Sasuke had been seen in a jewelry store. Sasuke wouldn't admit to anything but they had been dating on and off for the past year. The two sat huddled together, wrapped in their sponsored jackets the scores were read out over the microphone. "6.0....5.9....6.0 and another 6.0. Once again our champions have wowed the judges, give 'em a hand folks!" Another roar from the crowd and it was time for them to leave. Once they were in Ino's private room their manager called in a medic to take a look at Ino's ankle. "You've torn a couple of ligaments, nothing a couple of months rest won't cure though," he concluded. "A couple of months," Ino screeched, "but the qualifying rounds for the World Figure Skating Championships are only a couple of months away?" "Well then I suggest that Uchiha-san start looking for a tempoary replacement because you won't be walking on that ankle let alone skating on it for at least a month. ----------------------------- A month had passed and Sasuke still didn't have a partner. Ino been so difficult to deal with he'd sent her on an all expenses paid trip to Barcelona just to get away from her screaching. He was currently gazing out of the tinted window of his limo being driven to another hotel in another state to send away the next batch of hopefuls his manager had lined up. No one was right, no one was good enough, no one was--wait a second! "Stop the car!" Drivers behind them honked as the limo came to a abrupt halt. The screen seperating the front and back rolled down, "Something the matter sir?" the driver asked shakily. "Go round the block, I'll be ten minutes," was all Sasuke said as he climbed out of the car. They had been driving past a park when Sasuke had seen a flash of pink that looked all too familiar. He looked down at a small part of the park that was riddled with bars and jumps with people on boards, bikes and even a uni-cycle performing various tricks on. There was one girl, with bright pink hair wearing a cropped, sleeveless red top and a white skirt with black shorts underneath rollerblading between the obstacles. Every so often she would do a spin, or a jump or a some other move that reminded Sasuke of the basic figure skating moves you were taught when you first started out. When he'd begun figure skating he'd been in a class of about ten, one of whom had been a girl he rememberred very easily. The reason being had been her bright...pink...hair. Sakura, she'd been in the class for a year and masterred everything as quickly as he had but she was too wild for it. She didn't want to dress up in the sparkled and the frilly little skirts, she'd dropped out and if that wasn't her down there he'd eat his skates. Hm...maybe he'd have a partner in time afterall. ----------------------------------- Media: Pencil outline coloured over in photoshop Time: Several hours...12 or so maybe Characters: Sasuke Uchiha and Ino Yamanaka (C) MK ------------------------------------ There aren't enough words to say how much I love this piece. I love it when I sketched it and I love it even more now. I know Ino isn't wearing her wrist and knee bans but I loved the colouring of her legs and arms too much to cover it up with mesh. Everything except Sasuke's face and left foot are pretty much exactly how I wanted them. The background is just magical  COMMENT PLEASE |
