So these are some of the books I am looking forward to in 2012. There will be others of course but I don't know the characters, these are just the ones I know. Though I use that term loosely.

From left to right:

Ash, Ivy, Clary, Jorg, Artemis, Kami, Tessa

Ivy is a wingless faerie and being so small the book is heavy so Ash is holding up the book for her. Clary and Tessa are swapping secrets and compairing notes as there are often hints to each thers books. Jorg has a thing for red heads and less of a thing for ltierature. Artemis is on his hand phone to Holly ~ 'Holly, I'll have to call you back we're being transcribed'. Kami, ever the reporter, is looking for a good story.

Now City of Lost Souls, Artemis Fowl and The Last Guardian, Unspoken and Clockwork Princess have not had their cover art released! Artemis I got round by giving him a kindle, I doubt he'd use something as low tech as a book and Tessa has her book on her lap. For CoLS I just mashed to together the City of Fallen Angels cover and this [link] . For Unspoken...I just left it blank. I can't even extrapolate from existing books as it's a new series. I might add in official covers later as and when they're released though.

Wanted it to be simple, colourful and fun so enjoy chibi-esque cuteness!

6th January ~ Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

This is the 4th installement in The Iron Fae series and I'm aware it already debuted in America but this is the UK release date. So that's when I'll get to read about Prince Ashallayn' darkmyr Tallyn. A couple of you have recomended Iron Fae to me, I assume you hope to see fanart, I do have a piece of Meghan in the works and I have one of Puck in mind but I'm not sure if I'll ever do it.

1st March ~ Swift by R J Anderson

Some of you may have read Knife, Rebel and Arrow and might have picked up on some WIPs on my tumblr but then you might not. At first glance I wasn't sure but I really really enjoy these books. Swift is a new story, with a new set of characters but if the first three are anything to go by I'm sure it's going to be good :3

10th May ~ City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

I don't think this is news to most of my watchers but even so. It has Jonathan in it!! And I'm just a little bit obsessed.And Cassie returns to the UK for another signing in May!! Hopefully it will be after the launch of the book and before the MCM Expo. That would be very convenient.
Oh and I don't have secret acces to the cover, I've just used the background that's already somewhere on Cassie's website/tumblr/everywhere and the back and spin of City of Fallen Angels XD But ssssh you didn't notice.

7th August ~ King of Thorns by Mark Lawrence

I don't normally pic up on potentially dark or violent books but I bought Prince of Thorns on a whim (an it looks rather dashing in hardback) and oh my god I loved it. Prince Jorg Ancrath is the perfect blend of charming charismatic and unrepentedly bad. It's a really odd sort of fantasy that you don't quite understand by the end of the first book so I'm hoping King of Thorns will shed some light. It's like nothing I've read before! I highly recomend it.

August ~ Artemis Fowl and The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer

The last in the Artemis Fowl line ;-; I got into these books when I was like 12 I think and I loved Artemis and Holly so so much. I still do. I will say that all have the books have stayed at a child reading level (as opposed to how JK Rowling tried to grow the Harry Potter books with Harry and the first generation of readers) and they've been a bit up and down but overall I still really like them and I love to revisit them and it is sad that this will be the last (the 8th!!) of the series but little (not so little now) Arty has had a good run I think. One thing that annoyed me about this series is it's had 3 cover overhalls. I really liked the first set of covers, the 2nd set was alright and now there's these beastly things [link] If that's the only style of cover I'll be able to get I will refuse to buy the book! Blurg.

30th August ~ Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan

Unspoken is about a rag tag school newspaper team going on an adventure. Or so I gather. It's the new series from the brilliant mind that brought you The Demon's Lexicon series. You may have seen Nick and Mae here Bah Humbug. Unspoken features new characters and a new world I think. I've read the first chapter and there's a snippet here you can read as part of a give away [link]

Delayed to March 2013 ~ Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

The final chapter in The Infernal Devices series. Where we'll get to find out what happens to Will, Tessa and Jem. Everyone else too but mostly those three. Although I wanna know about HenryCharlotte and GideonSophie. Love this series <3
