Now I can't say I'm an obsessive fan, I missed out huge plot chunks (I didn't watch any of the fillers either apart from one or two) and I didn't set off fireworks when Shippuden finally rolled around but I do check back when I remember as I do want to know the ending and despite all the rage people throw at Naruto I like it. There, I've said it, and I won't take it back. That said, I haven't checked back in a while so today I went to check out the latest chapter and found I'd missed two. For the sake of spoilers all I will say is that my eternal love for Gaara has just been amplified ten fold.
I love Naruto and Gaara. I don't mean as a pairing, if you wish to take this as a yaoi piece then you're free to interpret it as that. For me, they are like brothers, so similar and so strong and just so good together. And I love the fact that Gaara is the one-tail and Naruto the nine, there's a spectrum, a completeness there that just really appeals to me. Along with all they've been through together, from the chunin exams to Gaara losing Shikaku and nearly dieing to now where they're both so far apart but both doing their part. They're both so strong and it really is inspiring.
And I'll just take this moment to say that if you don't like Naruto, my art is not a place for your vendetta, so feel free to comment on the art for better or worse but generic hate will not be tolerated and on your own head be it.
But yeah, I read the chapter and my love for Gaara was renewed so I took a break from Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices fanart to do this. I'd just finished Gaara when a pose flashed into my head for more MI fanart which has since been sketched. Inspiration is such a fickle thing.
Took a while to get Naruto as I wanted him so he actually looked like the Naruto we all know and love.
Hopefully I've done them justice.
Naruto and Gaara belong to Masashi Kishimoto
I just drew them.
